Hex Conquest is a quick turn-based strategy game on islands made of hexes. Every hex belongs to you or one of up to three computer rivals and holds a number of armies. On your turn, attack from any hex with two or more armies into a neighbouring enemy hex: a stronger attack usually wins and moves in, but a failed one costs half your force. End your turn to receive reinforcements equal to your largest connected territory, so keeping your land joined up pays off. Eight islands, from a two-player warm-up to a four-way war against sharp rivals. Every hex shows its owner’s symbol as well as colour.
How to play Hex Conquest
Goal: Capture every hex on the island.
Keyboard & mouse
- Click one of your hexes (2+ armies), then a neighbouring enemy hex to attack
- E ends your turn; arrows move the cursor and Enter selects
- P or Escape to pause
Phone & tablet
- Tap your hex, then a neighbouring enemy hex to attack

Rules
- Attack strength is your armies minus one plus a small roll; defence is the enemy’s armies plus a smaller roll.
- Win and you move in with all but one army; lose and your hex keeps only half its armies.
- Possible targets are outlined in white, with your chance of winning read out.
- Ending your turn brings reinforcements equal to your largest connected territory (up to 8 armies per hex).
- Rivals take their turns one attack at a time so you can follow what happened.
Tips and strategy
- Join your territories together — reinforcements depend on the biggest one.
- Attack with big stacks into small ones; even odds are risky.
- Do not leave a big rival stack next to a weak border.
