Number Snake is a number-path logic puzzle. Fill every empty square so the numbers run 1, 2, 3… all the way to the last square, with each number touching the next one up, down, left or right — one unbroken snake through the whole grid. Some numbers are given as signposts; work out the route between them. Thirty grids from 5×5 to 9×9, each with exactly one solution, and you can draw the snake with your finger.
How to play Number Snake
Goal: Fill every square so consecutive numbers always touch, forming one snake from 1 to the end.
Keyboard & mouse
- Drag from a number into neighbouring squares to write the next numbers
- Or select a square and type a number, then Enter
- Backspace clears your number, U or Ctrl+Z undoes, H gives a hint
- P or Escape to pause
Phone & tablet
- Drag from a number to write the numbers that follow it
- Tap one of your numbers to clear it
- Undo and Hint buttons below the grid
Rules
- Numbers must touch the next number up, down, left or right — never diagonally.
- White numbers are given; yours appear in blue.
- Drawing from a number writes the following numbers (or the ones before it, if those are missing).
- Numbers that break the snake turn red.
- Each grid has exactly one solution. Solve with no hints within the target time for 3 stars.
Tips and strategy
- Count the gap: from 7 to 12 you need exactly five steps, so the route can’t be shorter.
- Corner squares have only two neighbours — they are often the tightest clue.
- If two givens are a long way apart, the snake between them must wander.
