How to play Sudoku Grove
Goal: Fill every empty cell so each row, column and 3×3 box contains the digits 1 to 9 exactly once.
Keyboard & mouse
- Click a cell, then a number (or type 1–9)
- Arrow keys move the selection
- N toggles notes, Backspace erases, U or Ctrl+Z undoes, H gives a hint
- P or Escape to pause
Phone & tablet
- Tap a cell, then tap a number on the pad
- Notes, Auto notes, Erase, Undo and Hint buttons sit above the pad
Rules
- Givens (white) are fixed; your numbers appear in blue.
- A number that repeats in its row, column or box turns red.
- Notes mode pencils small candidates into a cell; placing a number clears it from nearby notes.
- Hints point out a wrong number first, otherwise the next logical step and why it works.
- Progress is saved automatically — use Puzzles to switch and Continue to come back.
Tips and strategy
- Scan each box for a digit that only has one possible spot.
- Look for cells where eight digits are already used by their row, column and box.
- On Hard and Expert, Auto notes plus elimination (pairs and pointing lines) is the way through.
