Code Breaker is a deduction game. A secret code of coloured pegs is hidden; you place a guess and get feedback — a solid white peg for each colour in exactly the right place, and a hollow ring for each right colour in the wrong place. Use the clues to narrow down the possibilities and crack the code before you run out of rows. Every colour also carries its own symbol, so the game never relies on colour alone. Eight levels add more pegs, more colours, repeated colours and fewer guesses — crack it in a handful of tries for three stars.
How to play Code Breaker
Goal: Find the hidden code within the allowed number of guesses.
Keyboard & mouse
- Number keys 1–8 place a colour in the next slot
- Backspace removes the last peg, Enter checks the guess
- Or click colours, slots and buttons
- P or Escape to pause
Phone & tablet
- Tap colours to fill the slots in order
- Tap a slot to clear it; Check submits the guess
Rules
- Fill every slot of the highlighted row with a colour and press Check.
- A solid white peg means one colour is in exactly the right place.
- A hollow ring means one colour is in the code but in a different place.
- Feedback pegs are not in slot order — work out which pegs they refer to.
- Some levels allow a colour to appear more than once.
Tips and strategy
- Open with a guess that tests many different colours.
- Change one or two pegs at a time to learn exactly what moved the score.
- If a guess scores nothing at all, every colour in it can be ruled out.
