Space Defender is a compact vertical shooter. Pilot a nimble ship through 15 escalating waves of drones — steady scouts, zig-zagging darts and armoured tanks. Every fifth wave a boss arrives with telegraphed attacks and a visible health bar; each boss is tougher than the last, and beating one permanently upgrades your ship. Grab spread shot, rapid fire or a shield, and keep moving.
How to play Space Defender
Goal: Survive all 15 waves and destroy the three bosses without running out of hit points.
Keyboard & mouse
- Arrow keys or W A S D to move
- Space to fire (hold for continuous fire)
- P or Escape to pause
Phone & tablet
- Drag on the left side of the game to move
- Hold the Fire button on the right, or turn on Auto-fire
Rules
- You have 3 hit points and a short moment of invulnerability after each hit.
- Scouts fly straight, darts zig-zag and tanks take several hits.
- Waves 5, 10 and 15 end with a boss — watch for its warning flashes. Later bosses add ring and sweeping attacks.
- Power-ups: spread shot (10 s), rapid fire (10 s) and a shield that blocks one hit.
- Each boss you beat adds 1 maximum hit point, heals you fully and makes your shots faster.
Tips and strategy
- Stay low and keep moving sideways; most enemy shots travel straight down.
- Focus fire on tanks before they reach the bottom of the screen.
- Save your dodging for the boss telegraph, then counter-attack.
