Beat Tiles is a four-lane rhythm game set to six original songs written for it. Tiles slide down the lanes in time with the music; tap a lane (or press D, F, J, K) just as its tile crosses the line. Every tile you hit plays its note of the melody over a soft chord backing, so a good run sounds like you are playing the song yourself. Hits within 50 milliseconds are Perfect, within 110 are Good; misses and taps off the beat drain your health bar. Keep a combo going for a score multiplier, finish the song to unlock the next, and aim for 92% accuracy for three stars. Songs get faster and busier, from a gentle 92 beats per minute to a 138 bpm closer.
How to play Beat Tiles
Goal: Play each song to the end without emptying your health bar.
Keyboard & mouse
- D, F, J, K (or ← ↓ ↑ →) tap the four lanes
- P or Escape to pause
Phone & tablet
- Tap a lane as its tile reaches the line
Rules
- Tap a lane when its tile overlaps the line at the bottom.
- Perfect (within 50 ms) and Good (within 110 ms) hits play the melody and heal you a little.
- A missed tile costs health, and so does tapping a lane with no tile near the line.
- Every 10 hits in a row adds 10% to your score, up to double.
- Accuracy of 92% or more earns three stars; 80% earns two.
Tips and strategy
- Listen as well as look — the tiles follow the tune.
- Rest two fingers on each side of the keyboard (D F and J K).
- Turn the sound on: it makes the timing much easier.
