Word Search hides themed words in a grid of letters. Drag across the letters to circle a word — across, down, diagonally and, in later puzzles, backwards. Each of the 18 puzzles has its own original word list, from Fruit Bowl and Under the Sea to Safari, Birdwatching and Treasure Island. The grids grow from 8×8 with words only across and down to 12×12 with words running in all eight directions. Found words are crossed off the list, a hint shows where a word starts, and quick finds without hints earn three stars.
How to play Word Search
Goal: Find every word on the list hidden in the grid.
Keyboard & mouse
- Click and drag from the first to the last letter of a word
- Or move with the arrow keys, press Enter on the first letter and again on the last
- H for a hint, P or Escape to pause
Phone & tablet
- Drag your finger across a word from its first to its last letter
- Tap Hint to see where a word starts
Rules
- Words run in straight lines: across, down and diagonally — and backwards in the later puzzles.

Tips and strategy
- Look for unusual letters first — a K, W or Y narrows things down fast.
- Scan for double letters such as the two Ps in "apple".
- In later puzzles, remember to read backwards and up.
