Colour Sort is a calm pouring puzzle. Pick up the top colour of a tube and pour it onto a matching colour or into an empty tube — but tubes hold only four layers, so the order of your pours matters. Thirty levels build from three colours to ten, with tight one-spare-tube boards mixed in. Every layer carries a shape as well as a colour, and every level is checked by a solver that knows the fewest pours possible.
How to play Colour Sort
Goal: Finish with every tube either empty or full of a single colour.
Keyboard & mouse
- Click a tube to pick up its top colour, then click a tube to pour into
- Arrow keys to move between tubes, Enter or Space to pick/pour
- Number keys 1–9 and 0 select tubes 1–10
- U to undo, H for a hint, P or Escape to pause
Phone & tablet
- Tap a tube to pick up its top colour, then tap where to pour
- Undo and Hint buttons below the tubes
Rules
- A tube holds four layers. You can pour onto an empty tube or onto the same colour.
- All matching layers on top pour together, as many as fit.
- Each colour also has its own shape, so you can sort by shape too.
- Par is the fewest pours possible. Finish within 1.25 × par without a hint for 3 stars.
- Undo steps back one pour (it still counts as a move). A hint shows a pour from a solution.
Tips and strategy
- Keep an empty tube free as long as you can — it is your most valuable space.
- Look for colours that are already on top of two tubes and join them.
- Before pouring into an empty tube, check you can clear what you uncover.
