Golf Solitaire is a quick, tactical patience game played over a nine-hole course. Seven columns of five cards sit face up; play the bottom card of any column onto the waste if it is one rank higher or lower, and turn a stock card when you are stuck. Long chains like 7-8-9-8-7 clear the table fast, but nothing can be played on a King. Every hole on a “clearable” course has been cleared by a solver, and the hint shows the best line it can find.
How to play Golf Solitaire
Goal: Clear as many of the 35 table cards as you can on each of nine holes.
Keyboard & mouse
- Click the bottom card of a column to play it onto the waste
- Click the stock (or press D or Space) to turn a card
- Number keys 1–7 play a column; U undo, H hint
- P or Escape to pause
Phone & tablet
- Tap a column’s bottom card to play it
- Tap the stock to turn a card
- New course, Undo, Hint and Options sit under the table
Rules
- Only the bottom (uncovered) card of each column can be played.
- A card can go on the waste if it is exactly one rank higher or lower — suits do not matter.
- Nothing can be played on a King (unless you switch on King–Ace wrap).
- A hole ends when the table is clear or no moves remain.
- Points: one per card cleared, plus five per unused stock card when you clear a hole.
Tips and strategy
- Look for long up-and-down chains before playing the obvious card.
- Play cards that free buried low or high cards first.
- Save stock cards: each one left over is worth five points on a cleared hole.
