Penalty Shootout puts the whole cup run on the spot. Take turns with a computer team: when you shoot, swipe from the ball towards the goal — the direction picks your target, the speed sets the power and a curved swipe bends the ball. Hit it too hard and it sails over the bar. When you keep goal, watch the run-up and tap where to dive; dive too late and you only get part of the way. Five kicks each, then sudden death. Win the group stage, round of 16, quarter-final and semi-final to reach the final, where the keeper reads most shots.
How to play Penalty Shootout
Goal: Score more penalties than the computer team in five kicks each (then sudden death) and win all five rounds.
Keyboard & mouse
- Shooting: drag from the ball towards the goal and release (speed = power, a curved drag bends the ball)
- Or aim with the arrow keys and press Space for a placed shot
- Keeping: click where to dive, or press Left/Right/Up/Down
- P or Escape to pause
Phone & tablet
- Shooting: swipe up from the ball towards where you want it to go
- A curved swipe bends the ball; a very fast swipe flies over
- Keeping: tap the part of the goal you want to dive to
Rules
- You and the rival team take turns: you shoot, then you keep goal.
- Swipe towards the goal to shoot — corners are hardest to save, but too close to the post can hit it or miss.
- A fast swipe is hard to reach but rises; an over-hit shot flies over the bar.
- As keeper, tap where you think the ball is going. Diving late only gets you part of the way.
- After five kicks each the higher score wins; level means sudden death.
Tips and strategy
- The top corners are out of reach of most dives — but leave a little room under the bar.
- Weaker teams shoot nearer the middle; stronger ones go for the corners.
- Commit early as keeper: a full dive in the wrong direction is no worse than a late one.
